The Agile Coach is responsible for 3-4 squads and acts as an embedded trainer within the squad by helping the team put their learning into action. The coach will accomplish this by:
• Coaching on agile values, culture, rules, practices
• Adhering to our Agile principles and processes
• On-the-ground support
• Provide objective, 3rd party perspective on progress and obstacles
• Clear and effective communications
• Influencing to help achieve positive outcomes
• Help squad to understand the problem and to explore and evaluate solutions
• Establish close and trusting relationships with the squad and the Scrum Master
• Rather than direct the squad, ask them questions that push them to leverage their knowledge and skills • Support the squad and encourage them to hold themselves as well as others accountable to their commitments • Guide the team
• Exemplify the agile principles and values by modeling the desired behaviours • Partner with the squad lead and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  Key Accountabilities:
The Agile Coach supports the continuous delivery of products and features by carrying out the following activities using our standard processes and toolsets:
•Coaching squads during sprints, keeping them focused on the planned outcomes for each sprint
• Help to drive continuous improvement by participating in their Chapter and by sharing
experiences and suggestions to advance the practice
• Conducting maturity assessments of the squads that they lead
• Act as facilitator in in conflict resolution, meeting facilitation, making meetings more effective and to help the squad arrive at decisions
•Create a safe environment where the squad can discuss problems openly, constructively and honestly
• One on one mentoring with squad members
• Coaches and mentors squad members and senior leadership on Agile best practices
• Helps create high performing squads • Creates consistency between clusters
• Enforces squad focus on creating output
• Identifies risks to the Agile process
Skills and Experience:
Must Have(s):
• Deep understanding of Agile principles, practices and artifacts
• Experienced Agile practitioner
•Previous coaching /team building experience
•Ability to work independently and with teams of 8-12 resources
•Strong technical expertise and excellent mentoring skills
•10 years software experience
• Works well with others
– coaches, leadership, Scrum Masters, squad members, squad leads
•Strong ability to influence and negotiate
• Strong communication skills
• Active listening skills
• Excellent people management skills
• Possesses a ‘do it, try it, fix it’ mentality
• Flexible and adaptable to new and diverse work environments
•Excels in commitment and integrity
Nice to Have(s):
• CSM from Scrum Alliance and/or CSC from Scrum Alliance
•5 years working in agile
• Experience implementing agile as part of an organizational transformation
