A patient who is competently cared for throughout his/her visit, who is made to feel comfortable, satisfied with their service and actively refers family and friends to the practice
Perform initial consultations and follow up evaluations of patients independently. Review information with doctor to devise successful treatment plan.
Perform patient education to ensure patient understands treatment recommendations and remain compliant with instructions given.
Evaluate new patients and formulate treatment plan to discuss with Dr. DeLaney. Familiarize self with all patients and their treatment plans.
As needed, sterile prep of patients, place I.V. catheter, I.V. sedation as needed, provide post-op instructions, pre-op instructions and any other duties required.
Chart, enter into EMR all appropriate data of patient during exam and treatment.
Help manage patient flow by independently evaluating patients who have been deemed stable or maximized in their treatment regimens.
Back up to ensure correct inventory of supplies and order as needed.
Help route patient to appropriate person (front desk, collections, etc.) after appointment.
Help maintain schedule to ensure patients are seen within 5 minutes of check-in.
Take every opportunity to help educate the patients on pain management and their treatment or procedure. Reinforce the office policy with patients regarding medication refills. Make welcome calls to new patients in advance of their first visit to ensure we can meet their expectations.
Be responsible for maximizing production by seeing that all possible work is completed that day and making sure that canceled slots are filled in with other patients or extended work.
Take patient calls and answer questions appropriately. Consult with Doctor if needed regarding issues you are unsure about.
Ensure that urgent calls or patient issues are brought to Dr’s attention immediately if you are unsure how to handle.
Refill patient medication prescriptions in a timely manner as appropriate. Request medication prior authorizations in a timely manner for patients.
Attend and contribute to all staff meetings.
Attend continuing educating classes.
Keep a current medical license and CPR/ACLS certificates.
Encourage new patient referrals.
