3D Applications Engineer/Specialist

-

Solves challenging 3D problems by applying thorough knowledge of all advanced, engineering grade 3D metrology hardware and 3D software (3D modeling and 3D inspection/analysis) the company deploys for project services. This includes such world class 3D software PolyWorks Inspector, Geomagic Design X, Solidworks, DPA, Leica Cyclone and Revit

Develop, test and implement 3D software programs for automated precision 3D data capture and inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies (plastics and formed metals and composite materials)

Development of solid skills in the use of all advanced 3D metrology hardware and 3D software (3D modeling and 3D inspection/analysis) to support customer product design and product or process engineering needs. This includes 3D laser scanning, 3D structured light scanning, photogrammetry and LiDAR technologies.

Work with minimal direction and supervision to achieve required technical results on budget and on time for customers

Supports Project Manager, 3D Services with reliable technical input for customer quotes and proposals

Adhere to specified standards for quality control of 3D metrology equipment and contract services. Applied Precision 3D’s quality management system is ISO 9001 certified

Assist with quotation of professional 3D project services and complete assigned tasks in quoted times involving product development support and independent quality inspection

Provide expert technical sales support for precision 3D metrology systems and 3D software (3D modeling and 3D inspection) as required for customers and prospective customers across North America

Core Qualifications:

-

Team player with excellent interpersonal skills

-

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Civil) in directly related fields of study (or equivalent education and professional experience).

-

3-5 years 3D CAD software experience (preferably with multiple 3D software packages)

-

Some experience with multi-material 3D printing processes and/or additive manufacturing

-

Must have a current passport as travel may be required

-

Must be fluent in English with strong technical communication skills (knowledge of a 2nd language is beneficial due to the multicultural nature of our customers)

-

Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area (role is based in Vaughan, ON)

-

Physical ability to handle 3D laser scanning and surveying equipment on site

-

Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, structural engineering and other CAD drawings and customer supplied technical materials
