Job Description

Hello Bookkeepers of the world! We are an exciting, passionate start up company and are looking for an equally exciting and passionate Bookkeeper to fill a critical role in our organization.

Such exciting tasks would include, but are not limited to:


-Maintains accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions

-Maintains and balances general ledger including reconciliations of accounts

-Maintains historical records and documentation to support accounting records

-Prepares financial reports on demand via internal accounting software

-Complies with regulatory requirements and advises management on needed actions

-Manages Accounts Receivable and Payable by recording payments received from customers and making payments to suppliers via internal accounting software

Our ideal candidate would also have experience with the ERP platform Odoo. If you have no experience, don't worry! We are willing to hire someone who is willing to learn. Be prepared to participate in a skill testing exercise during the interview process. A summary of the skill set we are looking for is as follows:

-Developing standards and operational procedures

-Dealing with complexity and managing time efficiently

-Research skills with a focus on being results oriented

-Attention to details and accountability

Required Skills and Qualifications

-Knowledgeable in GST and PST legislation and related application of sales taxes

-2+ years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role (would consider student with similar experience)

-2+ years’ experience using accounting/bookkeeping software (would consider student with similar experience)

-2+ years’ experience in an office administration role (would consider student with similar experience)

Ideal / nice to have Qualifications

-Knowledgeable in the Income Tax Act, GAAP, ASPE, IFRS

-Experience using ERP software, specifically Odoo ERP

-Bookkeeping and/or accounting certifications

-In an educational program leading to certification in bookkeeping or accounting (CPA student ideal)

This position would be as a part-time contract (20 hours/week) consultant, and will eventually lead to a full time contract provided we are satisfied with the person and their services.

Compensation commensurate with experience level.
