Job Description

We are looking for an experienced paralegal or similar professional to support our's global growth. The Legal team supports every aspect of us and works closely with our business partners to help transform the future of hospitality. In this role, you will support U.S. and international expansion, contribute to our global corporate governance and compliance, help manage and own a diverse array of projects and tasks, and design processes, workflows and resources to increase the team's effectiveness.

The ideal candidate for this position should be able to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and will collaborate with other Legal team members and with stakeholders in other areas. This role will report to Sonder's General Counsel.

Here You Will:

- Partner with our's legal team members to support the company's global and internal expansion
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners to obtain, organize and share information and key documents
- Identify and implement ways to improve Legal team operations
- Manage migration of documents to new document management system; maintain and enhance the system over time
- Manage law firm invoicing and other department operational matters; help to maintain our excellent relationships with law firms and other external partners
- Support and respond to audit, reporting, banking and transaction-related requests
- Assist international accounting, tax and compliance partners with the corporate aspects of State and country-specific entity compliance filings and annual reports
- Help to form and maintain legal entities in the U.S. and internationally; help coordinate board and stockholder actions, certificates and other governance documents
- Perform corporate/SEC research and assist with external and internal due diligence reviews
- "Speak up" to identify enhancements of our internal processes, including knowledge sharing, document management, and technologies/tools used by the Legal team, and serve as project manager to help select and implement them
- Build, organize and manage the Legal department's intranet site
- Coordinate document approvals and execution, track documents, maintain status reports
- Provide other day-to-day support to our Legal team as needed

What We Look For:

- Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, ideally in a relevant field such as business, legal, real estate, finance or accounting
- 7-10+ years of legal operations / corporate governance / contract management experience (ideally both in-house and at a major law firm)
- Experience with corporations, LLCs and similar entities, and basic corporate governance processes and documents.
- Experience with document and contract management, particularly in-house at a dynamic, international company
- Experience with SEC reporting and financing documents is a plus
- Ability to work proactively and independently under attorney supervision
- Comfortable working cross-functionally to better understand and support Sonder
- A team player with strong written and verbal communication skills and high levels of professionalism and integrity in all interactions
- Very well organized; extremely high standards of accuracy
- Strong preference for candidates located in Dallas, Texas, Denver, Colorado or Montreal, Quebec
- Notary Public is a plus
- High proficiency in G-suite and Asana project management, Adobe Acrobat; also MS office, DocuSign; experience with Lucid Charts desirable but not required
- Experience with contract/document management systems, billing systems such as Serengeti, corporate Board portals, reporting systems such as Workiva, and other common technologies and tools is a plus
- Previous hospitality and travel industry experience is desirable but not required
