We are looking for a Program Coordinator

As the Program Coordinator, you will be at the forefront of the business, supporting the delivery of our Trade Programs to B.C.-based companies. To be successful in this position you must have excellent communication skills, be results-oriented, and have the demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize workflow in a fluid environment.

You must be an enthusiastic leader, self-starter, collaborative, and capable of shifting gears from pedestrian and necessary tasks to facilitating strategic conversations in the blink of an eye. You must also have the stamina to keep up with a fast-paced environment that will put you at the epicentre of British Columbia’s business community. If this sounds like you, please read on.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist with recruiting businesses to participate in our Trade Programs.

-

Actively coach and support businesses following the Trade Programs.

-

Provide support to the team to design, organize and implement new international trade programs.

-

Assist in promoting our Trade Program to new potential sponsors.

-

Support the development and implementation of reporting and tracking systems for all Trade Program companies.

-

Assist with reports on past Trade Program participants’ business activities and success stories.

-

Communicate with the marketing and communication teams to promote our activities and successes.

-

Represent the group at local trade shows and business development activities.

-

Travel to Trade Accelerator Program delivery locations around the Province as needed.

Qualifications:

-

Experience in international trade in the public or private sector.

-

Strong knowledge of economic development principals as it relates to small and medium businesses.

-

Action-oriented, innovative, and dynamic individual with a demonstrated commitment to and experience in teamwork and customer service.

-

Sound judgment and ability in handling matters of a confidential and/or sensitive nature as it relates to companies’ internal information.

Education:

-

Undergraduate degree or equivalent trade-related work experience.

-

Fluency in specialized and personal computer systems and databases, Internet, and software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience:

-

Knowledge of how small and medium-sized businesses operate.

-

Well connected within the British Columbia business community.

-

Ability to speak and write in multiple languages is considered an asset.

Required Skills:

Excellent interpersonal skills combined with a high level of professionalism.

Organized, detail-oriented and skilled at managing multiple priorities.

Event planning and execution experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Resourcefulness and the use of creative thinking to solve problems.

Special Factors & Physical Demands:

The successful candidate will need to maintain flexible availability in order to accommodate a demanding schedule as events can occur during early mornings and evenings. Our activities require careful scheduling and may involve changes due to speakers’ schedules and other considerations. Light lifting of equipment is also required.
