Our academic editing department is looking for experienced copyeditors to join our team where you will be working with authors who are industry leading experts in their respective fields. The position can be either part time or full time and is exclusively work-from-home. We are looking for someone for the long haul; this is not a short-term job or a single contract. We need someone who can hit the ground running while working independently.

Key Accountabilities:
 Maintaining timely communication with management and authors
 Copyediting a variety of academic manuscripts
 Adhering to deadlines and budgets
 Providing feedback when required

What we’re looking for:
 Must have 5+ years experience in the editing industry, preferably in an academic field
 Must be able to reply to emails in a timely manner during regular business hours
 High proficiency using MS Word track changes
 Able to commit to 25 hours per week—when you work is up to you
 Expert ability in creating editorial style sheets
 Must be competent using editorial codes
-For example: ( for chapter numbers, for chapter author, for 2nd and 3rd level text subheads, for author query)
 Must be an expert with the Chicago Manual of Style
 Comfortable using Merriam Webster's Dictionary
 Personal computer with internet access, MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat are a MUST
 Problem solving and researching skills
 Experience working in an editorial production setting is beneficial but not required
 Able to communicate directly with authors and various production department members
