Description

We are currently recruiting for a contract mechanical designer to hire located in Markham, Ontario.

Qualification, Skills and Experiences

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical / Electrical designer in a heavy equipment (or related) manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mechanical design, welding/fabrication processes.
- Design experience with computer-aided design (CAD) component for Autodesk Inventor.
- Knowledge of PDM document management system.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Product-focused creative thinking.
- In-depth knowledge of industry design principles (as an asset).
- Ability to generate ideas that can lead to a reduction of cost and improvement of work processes.
- Able to document maintained logs and documentation
