A Designated Learning Institution (DLI) offers our International Students a recognized Ontario Public College credential.

Candidate must be flexible to work at and travel to all 3 of our campuses: Brampton, Mississauga & Toronto

Reporting to the Campus Director, the Athletics Advisor would be responsible for providing support and knowledge to departmental
knowledge to departmental staff and to students related to Recreation and Fitness and be the front line for communication with students.

Job duties would include but are not limited to:

- Organizing and administering all Recreation and Fitness building operations including effective implementation of policies, regulations and guidelines for facilities usage by students, staff, faculty and community user groups;
- Responsible for the daily operations of the recreational facilities for all recreational, fitness and intercollegiate needs;
- Balancing student needs with a demand for use from the community;
- Ensuring accurate documentation of coinciding revenues and expenditures; is responsible for all rental agreements, contracts, and any tenants;
- Coordination of on and off-site events, workshops, and/or retreats
- Interaction and liaison with external school systems and agencies in the development and maintenance of partnerships (e.g.: participation in a sporting association’s championship events) and related databases

Core Recreation and Fitness Duties and Responsibilities:

- Broad base knowledge of sport rules, equipment set up requirements and risk management;
- Oversee building maintenance and operation of indoor/outdoor recreational spaces; be knowledgeable of and able to carry out practical applications in floor resurfacing, fitness equipment repair, field ground maintenance and other hands on operational skills related to facility operations;
- Plan, deliver and evaluate a broad based active recreation and fitness program that includes: Intramural, Extramural, Instructional, Recreation and Fitness activities for staff and students;
- Ensure proper maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment;
- Purchase equipment and maintain inventory control of sports equipment;
- Oversee staff schedules, bookings/rentals, client registrations and payments;
- Update policy and procedure and communicate to impacted stakeholders.

It is mandatory for the Athletics Advisor to possess flexibility in their work schedule and collaborate with other department divisions, as necessary, as to ensure success in this position and for the Institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 2 year diploma in Sports Management / Recreation and Leisure Studies, Physical Education / Kinesiology or equivalent
- 2 years' experience in organizing sports management or related fields
- 2 years' experience in facility management, including hands-on experience with building maintenance and operation of indoor and outdoor recreational spaces; other hands-on skills for facility operations would be considered an asset
- Valid First Aid, AED & CPR
- Experience with gym membership
- Knowledge of and experience with safety guidance
- Excellent problem solving, communications and interpersonal skills
