The Project Manager role is vital for us to maintain efficient and highly quality execution of projects. Additionally, the Assistant Project Manager will facilitate our ability to exceed customers expectations in regard to on budget and on schedule execution of project deliverables while always maintaining a focus on safety. This role will work as part key part of the entire project team and will potentially support numerous projects at any given time.

Location & Hours:

This role will be located in the Cranbrook office, located at 1600A Theatre Rd., Cranbrook, BC. and will have regularly scheduled hours Monday to Friday. From time-to-time travel and overtime may be required.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Communicating with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals

• Contributing to the planning and development of projects including

- Performs initial site visits and walk throughs for bidding preparation

- Mobilization and demobilization planning

- Site preparation

- Permitting

- Procurement

- Scope of work planning and documentation

• Supporting the coordination and management of projects including

- Ensuring the safety and welfare of all subcontractors and labourers on site

- Management of critical subcontractors and construction project managers

• Research and compiles information about licenses and permits as required

• Performing administrative tasks such as.

- Preparing invoices

- Estimates and Budgets

- Project schedules

- Ensures Project management software is up to date at all times

- Ensures all project documentation is maintained and archived as required including

product literature, O&M manuals, drawings, sketches, blueprints, and schematics

- Ensures proper insurance, bonding, and security requirements are in place

- Scheduling meetings and keeps minutes of meetings for distribution

- Manages contracts and ensures proper documentation of all change orders

• Communication

- Keeps track of and reports project progress to all stakeholders on a pre-defined cadence.

- Responds to customer inquiries and other stakeholder communication in a prompt

and professional manner

- Attends regular site and project management meetings

- Communicating with stakeholders regarding project needs and goals

• Provided input for employee’s performance evaluations

• Completing any tasks assigned by the Project Manager in an efficient and timely manner

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelors’ or master’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

- 1 – 5 years of proven and successful experience in construction project management

- Verifiable leadership experience and capabilities, with past successful project execution

- Ability and desire to work collaboratively to ensure successful project execution

- Working knowledge of mining and/or civil construction

- Expert-level experience with computer operating systems

- Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insights into project details

- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively

- Industry-specific certificates and licensees may be necessary

- Working knowledge of commercial vehicle inspection requirements

- Strong organizational skills

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Strong technology and computer skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team
