As our newest Freelance Copywriter you will be responsible for creating copy for blogs, ad campaigns, websites, emails, video scripts, and other related assets while collaborating with the Creative Director to establish tone. The role will focus on assisting the Creative Director with concept development and developing copy to align with the tone and concepts of each project.


- Write blogs for a variety of clients
- Create copy for websites, social and digital ad campaigns, emails, scripts for storyboarding, and other related assets
- Help curate content and conduct research for RFPs
- Put together copy decks for assigned projects including all relevant details
- Creating content focused around the client's core message and target audience
- Brainstorming visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team
- Writing copy to be presented to key stakeholders
- Modifying copy until the client is satisfied
- Conduct research on the product, target audience and competitor activities in the market
- Meet with account executives to discuss the client's requirements and core messages
- Presenting initial ideas to the Creative Director and/or project team
- Assisting the Creative or Art Directors in casting actors and models to appear in advertisements
- Ensure that projects are innovative, world-class and respond to client expectations
- Review and edit existing copy to refresh the content and/or change tone
- Oversee copy in each phase of the project to ensure accuracy
- Liaise with freelancers to complete projects that can’t be completed internally


- Post secondary degree or diploma in Advertising, Marketing Communications, Creative Writing, Journalism or related field
- Creative Writing courses (An Asset)


- Must have 2+ years of copywriting experience in a digital agency setting
- Working understanding of SEO, including keyword implementation, metadata creation, alt-tag generation, content optimization, and blog writing.
- Extremely detail-oriented, organized and thorough
- Impeccable communication skills & professional collaborative attitude
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of the creative process
- Have an understanding of requirements for different platforms such as websites, social ads, print
- Highly creative and imaginative
- Good written and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working in a team setting
- Have an interest in commerce, popular culture, and new advertising trends and techniques
