Job Description
Summary:
Managing and overseeing the accounting department functions with a
focus on ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial
statements and reporting.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
·Delivery of Financial Statements.
·Setup and/maintenance of standards, internal control procedures.
·Effective liaison with external auditors, banks, stakeholders,
vendors.
·Proficient in general journal entries, intercompany transactions,
fixed asset report and depreciation, account reconciliations, expense
accruals, prepayment amortization, lease accounting.
·Preparation of financial reports, cash flow, operating cost,
forecasts, and annual budgets.
·Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that
the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting
principles or financial reporting standards.
Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual
corporate tax return.
Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal
regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed
information for the annual external audit.
·Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term
financial objectives and policies.
·Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments,
pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
·Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government
requirements.
·Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Position Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Proficient in Accounting practices and software.
* Ability to prepare financial statements.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Thorough knowledge of GAAP and U.S. GAAP
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business Administration
required.
* 7+years of progressive accounting with a portion in a leadership
role.
* Working knowledge of resource planning (ERP) system preferred
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
