Job Description
Our Academy is seeking an experienced and motivated
professional who shares our commitment to quality and student success.
The College requires an Instructor to teach in the Social Service
Worker (SSW) - Gerontology program:
* Candidates must be flexible to teach days, afternoons, evenings and
weekends; this is NOT remote location work.
* The Social Service Worker (SSW)-Gerontology Instructor will be
based at our Brampton Campus.
Candidates must be capable of and committed to effective teaching,
program level assessment of student learning and working with diverse
populations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Commitment to effective teaching, program level assessment of
student learning and working with diverse populations
* Plan, prepare and deliver quality classroom instruction based on
the approved curriculum
* Timely complete and submissions of all grades, marking of all
tests, examinations and assignments; meet all deadlines of official
College reporting and record submissions
* Provide enriching learning environment for students by using
holistic and career-oriented teaching methods
* Monitor each student’s attendance and progress
* Abide by all Company policies, guidelines and standard operating
practices
* Participate in faculty/staff meetings, committee meetings,
professional development workshops, and other school functions as
required
* Conduct communications and behaviour in cooperative, respectful and
polite manner with all contact points when sharing information, making
inquiries or asking for assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum Requirement: Social Service Worker Bachelor degree in
Social Services field, with specialization in Gerontology / Geriatric
Study; Master’s degree preferred
* Current member of regulated Social Work - Health Care Professional
Associations and registration is in good standing with no restrictions
in these relevant professional associations
* Minimum of 5 years’ of relevant professional experience working
with seniors in a long-term care facility, retirement home, assisted
living, etc.
* Minimum 2-3 years of demonstrated experience teaching within an
onsite classroom environment, at a post-secondary level in a college
or university
* Proficiency in G Suite and Google Classroom is an asset
* Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles
* Experience working with international students
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently, resolve problems
and make decisions as per Company’s policies and procedures
* Able to work in a high pressure environment, meet curricula
mandated timelines for data submissions,
* Excellent presentation and communication skills (Both written and
oral), shared across all media platforms

Candidates selected for an interview may be required to provide a 10
minute teaching demonstration. Details will be provided when
interviews are scheduled.
Wage:
*Hourly rate is going to be based on credentials/qualifications and
experience**
