KEYS AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Project Development and Planning:
· Work with the Senior Designer in responding to the
design needs of Architects, Developers and Homeowners to create,
consult and communicate with clients to meet
their design goals
· Using AutoCAD, create detailed drawings to support
the Senior Designer at our Ottawa Showroom
· Conduct site measurements and site visits
· Source pricing for speciality items
· Maintain on-going client contact on design matters
throughout their project
· Attend Engineering and Production Planning meetings
as necessary (virtual)
· Meet Cedar Ridge Designs standards in design,
processes, cost control, communication and customer service
· Source materials and appliance specifications.
· Build and maintain positive relationships with
clients, other Designers, Administrative Staff, Engineering Team,
Workshop Manager, Project Leads, Installation
Service Manager and Installers
Technical Responsibilities:
· Must be technically proficient in AutoCAD, learn or
use Cabinet Vision. Sketch Up is also a useful skill.
· Have a complete understanding of cabinet making
procedures and stay updated on new methods / applications
· Review, clarify and finalize job details with the
Senior Designer
Process Responsibilities:
· Be effective and consistent in the use of all our processes, controls and
the design responsibilities within the ERM (Enterprise Resource
Management) system
· Complete Our Design standards for job
specifications
· Complete Customer Specification List with all
client details, job specifications and drawings as signed off by the
client
· Maintain all project records in an organized and
accessible format
· Confirm all meetings, telephone calls and
conversations in email format
· Maintain computer files in proper directories
Skills, Experience, Competencies:
· 2 – 3 years’ experience in cabinetry / millwork
design
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal
communication skills
· Multi-tasker / fast paced
· Effective problem solver
· Have a passion for detail in design and customer
service
· Experience in preparing and reading shop drawings
· Have the emotional intelligence to positively
influence a range of clients, issues and complex situations
