Job Description
We are currently seeking Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team! Key
Responsibilities: · Maintain staff training tracker and ensure all
training is up to date and compliant. · Develop a Preventative
Maintenance Program · Update, implement and maintain the company's
Health and Safety Program · Lead accident / incident reporting and
investigation; provide leadership and corrective action · Provide
support regarding Workers' Compensation Board regulations and policies
· Ensure appropriate and sufficient safety equipment is available to
all employees · Be present on building sites to assess ongoing work
conditions and ensure compliance · Hold workers, including
subcontractors accountable for failure to follow safe work procedures
and Health and Safety policy · Work closely with the managers,
ensuring their workers comply with safety legislation while at work ·
Complete H&S internal audits as required · Relay required safety
information to both new and current employees · Identify safety
training requirements, make recommendations to H&S Director and
schedule and deliver approved training as required · Assist in the
identification, development and provision of appropriate health and
safety related information, instruction and training (i.e., health and
safety handbook and newsletter) · Coordinate the review of health and
safety related policies and procedures, including any new legislative
and/or technical changes Required Skills and Experience: · Minimum 3
years' experience in Health and Safety · Knowledgeable of health and
safety regulations in the construction industry · Relevant
certifications (eg. WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety awareness,
Working at Heights, etc) · Knowledge in developing a Health and
Safety Management System · Understanding of federal, state and city
safety requirements, including Ont Reg 213/91 · Proficient in Excel,
Word, Access, CAD/PDF, PowerPoint and Outlook · Excellent written and
verbal communication skills · Well organized, have the ability to
effectively multi-task and have good attention to detail · Ability to
commute to job sites with ease · Respect for authority and company
policy · Demonstrated attention to detail · Safety conscious ·
Physically able to perform all duties · Ability to motivate health
and safety culture · Team player with a positive attitude · Work
well within time restraints and able to meet deadlines
