Job Description
Our Contracting Inc. is looking to grow its construction team!
We are looking for an experienced Estimator for ICI Construction to join
our Estimating Department. We offer competitive compensation based on
experience. The successful Estimator/Sales applicant will be able to
perform both estimation functions as well as generate leads and sales
via networking. PRIMARY FUNCTION: * Responsible for the
tender/quotation process, generating tender bids, and providing timely
follow-up; * Efficiently and timely process quotes request received
via any communication means, including RFQs, RFPs and RFIs; * Manage
and search public tender directories to identify potential jobs within
the Company's scope; * Review construction drawings, plans and
specifications and identify and review scope of work; * Review,
understand and make recommendations regarding contract agreements
including CCDC standards; * Attend site meetings, project meetings,
and site inspections as required; * Develop and maintain subcontractor
and vendor relationships and procure quotations during bid process; *
Screen and qualify new subcontractors and vendors of all trades and
types as jobs require; * Budget development, preparation and review;
including subcontractor and vendor agreements; * Facilitate handoff of
project information including budgets, scopes of works etc. to project
management teams; * Develop and maintain relationships with new and
existing clients throughout tender/bid/quotation processes; * Develop
and maintain construction estimation software and develop new
construction bid management processes. JOB KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE &
TECHNICAL SKILLS: * Proficient knowledge of construction methods,
systems and materials, specific to ICI construction; * Previous
experience with ICI construction for property management clients is an
asset; * Practical understanding of the analysis of construction
drawings, tenders and RFP/RFQs; * Ability to understand and interpret
contract documents, shop drawings, and specifications. Be familiar
with subcontractors contracts including scopes of work, exclusions,
clauses, and limitations; * Familiarity of construction law, the
Construction Lien Act, and CCDC contract documents an asset; *
Previous experience in deploying, setting up and using construction
bid management software an asset; * Ability to proficiently use
e-mail, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project to communicate
information effectively to management team, subcontractors and client
