About the Role
On behalf of our banking industry client, Astek Canada is seeking a
motivated Data Engineer.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business SMEs to
understand data needs and create secure data workflows.
* Design, build, and maintain data processing pipelines using Azure
Databricks, Data Factory, ADLS Storage, and PySpark.
* Develop databases, data marts, and data warehouses, ensuring
efficient data migration.
* Build reporting and analytical tools to provide insights into
business performance.
* Design and maintain ETL processes using Azure Data Factory or
similar technologies.
* Implement data validation and cleansing procedures to ensure data
integrity.
* Monitor and resolve pipeline issues to ensure consistency and
availability.
* Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security
policies.

Qualifications

* Expertise in Microsoft Azure technologies, including Spark.
* Experience in data migration projects within Azure.
* Ability to analyze internal and external data for business
improvement.

Key Skills

* Strong analytics skills for working with unstructured datasets.
* Experience with MS Azure (EventHub, ADF, ADLS, Azure SQL, ASP).
* Proficiency in Bitbucket, GitHub, Confluence, JIRA, DevOps
pipeline, and CI/CD.
* Expertise in ETL coding, data pipeline optimization, and SQL.

Nice to Have

* Experience with Confluent Kafka, Redis DB, AKS, MQ, OAuth,
Postman.
* Background in data migration projects.
