Role: SAP Commerce Cloud (B2C) Architect

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Remote)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on SAP Commerce Cloud Architect with strong B2C
eCommerce expertise to lead architecture, solutioning, and backend
development for enterprise-scale SAP Commerce Cloud implementations.
This role is critical for a global consumer electronics client,
focusing on high-traffic, high-availability B2C platforms. The ideal
candidate will bring deep technical knowledge, strong architectural
decision-making, and hands-on development experience across SAP
Commerce Cloud (2211+), integrations, and performance-driven B2C
commerce solutions.

Responsibilities:

Platform Architecture & Design:

* Lead the architecture and technical design of SAP Commerce Cloud
B2C platforms, aligning solutions with business and scalability
requirements.
* Design and implement architecture strategies leveraging SAP
Commerce Cloud best practices.
* Own backend architecture decisions including extensibility,
performance, and reliability.

B2C Commerce & Backend Development:

* Drive hands-on development and enhancement of SAP Commerce backend
capabilities.
* Design and optimize B2C commerce flows including product & catalog
modeling, pricing, promotions, cart, checkout, and order lifecycle.
* Lead SOLR design, indexing strategies, tuning, and search
performance optimization.
* Ensure platform readiness for high traffic, peak loads, and
seasonal spikes.

Integration Strategy:

* Architect and lead integrations between SAP Commerce Cloud and ERP,
OMS, PIM, payment gateways, tax, shipping, and third-party systems.
* Ensure secure, scalable, and reliable data flow across systems
using appropriate integration patterns.
* Address error handling, data consistency, and asynchronous
processing for B2C integrations.

Code Quality & Technical Governance:

* Define and enforce coding standards, architectural guidelines, and
best practices.
* Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and ensure high-quality,
maintainable code.
* Drive performance optimization, security standards, and production
readiness.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

* Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate
business requirements into technical solutions.
* Provide expert-level consultation on SAP Commerce platform
capabilities, customization, and future enhancements.
* Identify risks, constraints, and technical trade-offs, advising on
best practices.

Mandatory Qualifications:

* 10+ years of experience as an Architect delivering enterprise-scale
B2C eCommerce solutions.
* Proven experience leading mid to large B2C SAP Commerce (Hybris)
implementations.
* Hands-on experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (version 2211 or
above).
* Led 5–7 large-scale integrations involving SAP Commerce Cloud and
third-party systems.
* Strong hands-on experience with Java Enterprise and web
technologies.
* Deep expertise in-
* Hybris architecture and extension framework
* Systems integration and package implementation
* B2C data models (products, catalogs, customers, carts, orders)
* SOLR design, setup, and tuning
* APIs and backend services
* Strong understanding of end-to-end B2C commerce architecture and
scalability considerations.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex
technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to translate business requirements into SAP Commerce
technical solutions.

Nice to Have:

* SAP Commerce Architect Certification.
* Experience with SAP Spartacus.
* Exposure to other eCommerce platforms.
* Working knowledge of Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
* Experience supporting high-traffic consumer retail or electronics
B2C platforms.
