Role Summary:

In the context of our Brands’ continued growth, we are seeking a talented, dynamic and passionate Copywriter. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Copywriter is responsible for creating compelling promotional and informational copy for packaging, print, web, social media and email campaigns. In this role, the Copywriter will be focused on developing content around the company’s brands and intellectual property in order to drive audiences to seek more information or reach out to the company. The ideal candidate will be highly driven and committed to the delivery of results in a competitive and fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

•Research, write and edit clear, compelling and engaging marketing copy for various channels, including website pages, product listings, blog posts, print and online advertisement, matte releases, videos and presentations;
•Take ownership of writing projects to bring high concepts and ideas to life, while ensuring that marketing requirements and creative integrity are maintained;
•Maintain a consistent voice that reflects the company’s core values, but that can be adapted to different specific audiences, including parents, toy collectors, and boys and girls of all ages;
•Apply SEO techniques and recommendations to all web content;
•Develop tools and guidelines to help ensure consistency across all marketing communications;
•Review and edit content from freelancers to ensure that it is up to the company’s standards of quality and that it adheres to our stylistic guidelines;
•Actively participate in brainstorming sessions surrounding IP development and launches of new product lines;
•Stay current with industry best practices and implement strategies to increase reach;
•Ensure quick turnarounds in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

*Experience, Education & Skills

•Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, English or related field;
•Over 3 years work experience in developing marketing content for various channels;
•Exemplary English writing and editing skills;
•Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and ability to converse in French;
•Demonstrated ability to adapt writing style for different audiences and channels – writing samples required;
•Proven ability to generate creative ideas that aligns with brand strategies;
•Knowledge of SEO best practices and techniques;
•Experience researching and reporting on relevant industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for new or improved content;
•Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel, with basic knowledge of Photoshop;

•Time management and organizational skills, with sense of urgency and ability to prioritize and multi-task;
•Highly energetic team player with strong work ethic, and ability to work both independently and as a team player;
•Strong desire and aptitude to develop, learn and grow through hands-on experience.
