An ideal candidate will have a solid design background, including infographics.
The Production Manager is a key member of the publishing team and works hand in hand with the Publisher, editorial and sales departments.
The position has two key elements:
finding and creating artwork for the print issues (6-7 articles for the print publication each month), as well as their layout, reformatting the graphics used in print for online use and creating or finding artwork for online content and social media and creating ads for print and web design.

Key Responsibilities:
Find or create artwork for and lay out departments (6-7 articles for the print publication each month)
Find or create artwork for web-only content
Find or create artwork for social media
Create Covers from stock photography or Photoshoot
Create Ads
Check submitted ads for appropriate reproduction
Assist with Ad trafficking and deadlines
Assist with multiple rounds of review, making edits as needed

Key Skills:
Proficiency in Quark, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Expert knowledge in the use of design concepts (layout, typography, color, white space, and grid.
Understanding of print concepts (bleed, resolution, and color).
Awareness of emerging web, design, and social trends and techniques.
Awareness of user centered design process and methods.
Google Drive
Working knowledge of Mac
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize, time-management
Ability to take ownership of assigned projects from beginning to end
Motivated, optimistic team-player
Key Qualifications:
At least 2 years experience in design and layout
Experience in laying out editorial content and ads
Strong portfolio, showcasing SOLID design, color, and typography sensibilities
Experience in creating illustrations and infographics is highly preferred
This is a part-time position which could grow to a full-time, permanent position.
Wages is commensurate with experience.
