The Research Analyst is responsible for originating financial content for sales/marketing materials. This includes interpreting and analyzing financial data, and using appropriate statistics to update and create sales/marketing literature. The incumbent will also review marketing collateral updates produced by fellow team members and enhance data delivery through automation and data visualization.

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for the development and individually originate static and interactive investment and financial content rooted in quantitative theory and rigor for application to distribution efforts and corporate initiatives.

Educate and promote research methodology standards with fellow team members.

Contribute to sales/marketing campaigns through proactive research and competitive insights.

Develop and promote value-added insights, trends, and implications applicable to distribution.

Gather feedback and conduct cross-training sessions for colleagues pertaining to current/new functions, analytical research systems, and work output in a multi-site environment.

Serve as subject matter expert on assigned responsibilities and analytical/research systems.

Automate recurring research reports and surveys through data visualization development and internal database maintenance.

Maximize technological capabilities and recommend innovative ideas for new sales and marketing collateral.

Build client relationships by providing services that address needs and improve process.

Ideal candidates will have:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Finance, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science) preferred.

5 - 7 years job related experience in the mutual fund or financial services industry.

Sound knowledge of mutual fund industry, investment products, and key concepts.

Strong attention to detail with solid quantitative and analytical skills,

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Advanced Excel skills (formulas, functions, charts, pivot tables, macros).

Solid database (SQL, Access) skills

Skilled in using third party quantitative research systems such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Lipper/LANA and Morningstar Direct.

Solid Tableau skills or experience developing interactive data visualizations using alternative tools preferred.

Able to integrate multiple data sources into one analysis.

Solid even-driven programming skills in Python and/or VBA preferred.

Client management experience required.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Strong partnership skills in order to work directly with management, supervisor, peers, and staff in other locations.

Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines.
