Although my education in Business Marketing and Sports Business Management has taught me about the various skills needed in the industry, I have put my skills to practice outside of the classroom through internships and job experience. My experience includes holding several different positions (Ticket sales Intern, Digital Intern, and Marketing Administrator) in a number of sports-related and athletic organizations. I am currently a Marketing Administrator for a start-up company called FanShare, where I focus primarily on adding content to the platform, develop a weekly E-Newsletter, produce analytical documents of trending topics for partnered podcasts and develop visuals for all the social media channels using Adobe Photoshop. Since my addition to the company, we’ve seen our number of members rise from 1,500 to 12,000 in just over a year. Additionally, I have had the unique opportunity to work with the Ottawa Senators ticket sales team as an intern, where I was part of the 2016 Inner Office Sales Day Championship team. While working for these organizations and other internships, I have also balanced managerial roles at multiple restaurants including at the largest Irish pub in Ottawa. At these establishments, I was primarily focused on customer service, operational issues, dealing with product representatives, and product inventory. My previous experience in both the Hospitality and Sports industry makes me a perfect candidate for this position.
My marketing skills and knowledge have been demonstrated through the graduate certificate program of Sports Business Management where I developed a full marketing and promotions plan for the city of Ottawa to host the 2018 National Volleyball Canada Championships for a bidding project. The areas of the 300-page document that I contributed to included the development of brand logos, marketing plan, promotions, targeted sponsors, social media campaigns, website development, promotional advertisements and developed the entire visual presentation for the final bid.
