Skills:
I have over six years’ combined experience teaching English courses for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Inver Hills Community College. My well-rounded teaching experience includes teaching composition, creative writing, literature, courses, professional writing, college readiness, and developmental writing on campus, online, and at correctional facilities. I have also co-taught two learning community courses and continuously incorporate service learning. In addition to teaching various courses, I participate in program reviews, demonstrate how to use voice recognition software, supervise online student mentors, write student recommendation letters, and initiate service learning partnerships with community organizations. Furthermore, I collaborate with other instructors to propose course curriculum and certificate revisions to Academic Council, improve course and campus accessibility, develop an English 0099 exit portfolio assessment, identify and recruit speakers for the College's conference, assess and score scholarship applications, and supervise field trips.
My career endeavors also include working as a Writing Center Consultant at St. Mary's University. As a consultant, I assisted students with all stages of the writing process, provided one-on-one APA and grammar related sessions, and worked with the accessibility coordinator to aid students needing writing accommodations.
