Strong analytical skills
I am a natural writer and researcher, with two projects currently close to academic publication in my first year of graduate school. In particular I am analytically-minded, with a knack for tackling complex or vague research and writing assignments to a high standard of quality. I accomplish this by developing a concrete plan of attack at the outset, while also leaving a wide latitude for further input from the client or professor to whom I am answerable, allowing me to "cover all the bases." I enjoy contract work because of my sometimes awkward academic schedule.
Having worked both as a junior law clerk and a student for many years, I am quite accustomed to editing essays, personal and legal correspondence, personal statements, research proposals, and many other things. I also have experience editing essays written by ESL students, and by those for whom English is not a first language more generally.
