Skills:
When I moved to The Netherlands, I started working for an IT company, it was one of the hardest times of my entire career. I just graduated and got my Ph.D. the only thing I wanted to do was teach in Academia. I had invested a lot of time on it, both physically and mentally, and when I realized it wasn’t going to be like I planned, my entire world crumbled. However, after a few months, I realized that I had to stand up again and work hard for my future. Thanks to my current job I discovered how my Ph.D. in Anthropology and Ethnology can perfectly fit the IT world. I started learning and discovering about the UX world and how much I enjoy solving problems for humans while using products.
For this reason, after careful research, I began my journey to become a certified User Experience Designer, and a year later here I am. I have a profound knowledge of the UX research methods and analytics such as competitive benchmark, surveys, card sorting, personas, affinity diagrams, customer journey mapping, usability tests, etc. Those research methods are brought from anthropology and translated into the UX world, just think about how Jiro Kawakita a Japanese anthropologist translated his KJ method onto the engineering world. I can perfectly manage how to conduct 1:1 interviews, focus groups, and participant observation, in other words, contextual inquiry.
I strongly believe that information and culture are what the world needs to make a change. Being a User Experience Researcher/Designer can allow me to make changes in people’s lives, to make them feel taken care of while using a product.
I am always ready for challenges and passionate about what I do, to do it the best way. I like working in a team but also independently. I would love to have the chance to grow, learn and develop through my career. Being an anthropologist means embracing diversity, I can’t wait to meet people from different cultural backgrounds. We can learn a lot from each other.
In conclusion, I have many objectives for my career. I would love to become a strong leader. I want to inspire other people to keep pursuing their dreams.
