Make and Own Opportunities
In the global setting of this world, 1 job for life is no longer a luxury afforded.
The goal that must be realized is to adapt to the changing markets and find needs others have, then find the right keys to unlock the doors and fill them. My experiences and strategies would be a perfect fit for your organization.
I bring to the table 25 years of overseas travel, training, managing several groups and teams as well as getting to know the cultures I am working with. An outside of the box thinker, I find the core needs, how they are understood and fulfil them to a satisfying end. My other hats have included, ESL teacher, costume designer, Homestay agent/manager, Homestay Mom-custodian-guardian, writer of technical manuals, as well as stories and poetry (published) and a consultant in the textile/garment/furniture industry in quality assurance/testing.
Travelling while my children were still young, I get what homesickness is and know the signs. For those who are first time away from familiar surroundings life can go 3 ways….. Crash and burn, saturate into what is familiar and lose out on new experiences, that is just the way the survival instinct works. The last and most frightening is to go out of the comfort zone and find all that will awaken the soul.
I bring to the table my knowledge of Travel, Montreal, the education system here, languages and getting new students familiar with getting settled and grounded by going with them to open bank accounts, getting transport passes, where to go to shop, where to get medical attention and offer an ear for any difficulties they encounter. A resource person for any questions or concerns.
I’ve hosted over 300 students, and keep in touch with 80% of them still to this day. After all networking should be a lifetime pursuit no matter what field you partake in.
I offer you my time, experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to make a success of how you see me fitting into your organization. I am ready to take on a new challenge.
There are no problems, just lessons, opportunities and solutions.
