Strong analytical skills
I have over three years of copy editing experience. I have copy edited for The Vanderbilt Hustler (Vanderbilt's official student newspaper) and for The Slant (Vanderbilt's humor and satire publication). At The Hustler, I served as supervising copy editor during the 2013-14 school year and as chief copy editor during the 2014-15 school year. I have been The Slant's primary copy editor since 2013. My other editorial experience comes from serving on the editorial advisory board of The New Physician -- a national magazine and an official publication of the American Medical Student Association. I have also written several articles for each of these publications.
I have experiences with many styles of writing, including articles adhering strictly to AP Style, satire articles, magazine articles, scientific manuscripts (I conduct research and have helped in the writing and revision of manuscripts), and more.
Regarding quantitative proof of my mastery of English grammar, I scored an 800 (perfect score) on the SAT Writing section and an 11 (95th percentile) on the 2014 MCAT Verbal Reasoning section.
I also speak Vietnamese fluently and have a strong background in Latin, furthering my understanding of language.
