As a young writer and enthusiast of all things creative, I am vibrant with innovative and refreshing ideas. I’m passionate about arts, culture, community, creativity and communication.
Presently, I am an arts and culture reporter with the Manitoban, a weekly newspaper based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. My work at the Manitoban involves reporting, setting up interviews, taking photographs and covering stories about artists and their music, actors and their films or plays, authors and their books, cultural events as well as artistic and creative entrepreneurs.
As an arts and culture reporter, I have some experience with Canadian publishing and writing styles, deadline orientation, effective media communication as well as the lifestyles of artists, actors, authors and entrepreneurs. This knowledge and experience has made me an adept and creative writer and a cask of fresh ideas
More so, I work as a part time editorial assistant for a publishing house – Shalom publications. My duties include assisting the editors by proofreading articles and book chapters to ensure that they meet the required standards of the publication. I ensure the text are grammatically correct and adhere to the set publishing style.
I have substantial blogging experience: I run a blog of my own. I have also contributed to a number of publications including Maclean’s Magazine, the Uniter, Shalom Publications, The Daily Sun (Nigeria), Punch Newspaper, Trinity Bulletin amongst others. My work experience includes a number of editing and copywriting gigs as well.
Also, I have some experience with online publishing (via the Manitoban) and with content management systems such as blogger and wordpress.
