As a recent Master of Engineering (Aerospace) graduate from University of Toronto, I am confident that my skills and experiences will be a great match to this opportunity and my enthusiastic attitude, attention to detail and a drive to always keep learning will prove me as an asset for your organization. As an Aerospace Engineering student I not only got the chance to study in the field that I have always been passionate about but the overall experience also made me more open-minded and technically strong. These skills of mine mirror in the excellent grades that I have always managed to get in my courses. Applicability of these concepts in my projects has helped me stand out. They reflect my ability to grasp concepts easily. I also have always been an avid reader of books and this habit of mine keeps me upbeat with the recent trends in the field.
As a graduate student I had a chance to work on a project based on Aerodynamic Shape Optimization. This project used the code Jetstream to solve two constrained multipoint problems in order to optimize the shape of an airfoil. The problem made sure that the objective function was reduced over a wide range of operating conditions and constraints. This project not only allowed me to learn more about Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) but also helped increase my technical capabilities by allowing me to utilize Tecplot, LaTeX, Fortran, Linux and MATLAB. Reporting to my mentor and supervisor on a regular basis made sure that the project was finished in the given time frame. The optimization algorithm used helped achieve significant amount of drag reduction by resulting in an optimized airfoil that was particularly tailored to the set of design conditions. During my undergraduate studies, I handled two projects both based on CFD. Based on one of my projects, I had a chance to present a research paper in a National Conference. Apart from these, I have also had the chance to work on projects related to Aerospace Structures wherein I wrote a Finite Element Code to solve a two-dimensional problem.
