Dana is a rare breed of strategic thinker and hands on worker. Dana effectively blends project management and structure to obtuse, and often difficult, problems to solve. Taking a big problem, and dividing into smaller, manageable pieces, without getting off-track is the value Dana brings to a team.
Dana developed her general business expertise during twelve-years of consulting experience at Accenture, in the Strategy Practice. Dana worked with a diverse group of companies including Dow Chemical, Lend Lease, American Home Products, The United States Postal Service, NationsBank (Bank of America), Cingular Wireless, and International Paper.
Subsequent to her time at Accenture, she has pursued independent business consulting with AT&T Mobility in Supply Chain, writing numerous business plans, serving as interim President of a technology start-up, creating financial models, and go-to-market strategies. She also pursued business development opportunities for a small software company and a technology startup. She can work with both boot-strapped and corporate budgets.
Dana is the former Vice President of Operations at PodPonics, Inc., a technology-based hydroponic farm. While there she grew operational revenue from $50K to $100K monthly over a four-month period. Dana designed and led day-today operations of a 25+ person team, process definition, plant R&D and protocol design, business requirements definition for software technology direction, business case development, Food Safety Primus GFSI certification (obtaining a Superior rating, adding a Farm Crew Audit, and GAP audit, and additional products). She was responsible for International Supply Chain Management, Process Facility business design, Farm Operations business design, business case preparation, and strategic procurement. She initiated preliminary HR policies while formal policies were under development. She also prepared the strategic plan for a pending partnership with a Global 2000 Company. Finally, she began preparations for an Integrated Disease Management Plan.
Dana graduated with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. She was honored as a Fuqua Scholar (graduated in the top 10% of class).
She participated in adventures including hiking the Grand Canyon, hiking the Inca Trail, summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, participating in one month total immersion language school in Costa Rica, attempting the summit of Mt. Elbrus (Russia), and volunteering on a working horse farm. She authored From Laptop to Mountaintop: Lessons they didn’t Teach you in Business School.
