I believe that some of the most important duties of a researcher are to communicate his or her work to peers and to industries, as well as to give back to the community by sharing their research and encouraging initiatives that allow the public to benefit from their work. I have taken this duty very seriously by giving presentations in various conferences and by writing research articles, both in french and in english. Doing so strengthened my interest for science communication and, especially, for the promotion of science and research. In order to explore that interest further, I attended a workshop organized by the Association des communicateurs scientifiques du Québec about ways to communicate science efficiently in conferences and I also became very interested in scientific journalism. Besides the project and budget management skills that I developed while carrying out my interdisciplinary research projects, I perfected my writing abilities by producing reports, grant applications, research articles and a thesis.
