Hi my name is Amanda and I am a writer, photographer and radio producer currently based in Montreal, Quebec. At this time, I am seeking employment in writing, editing, production and community management. I am hoping to grow within a small or mid-sized company, and am confident that my diverse set of skills would bring plenty to the table.
I completed my BA in English Literature at Concordia University this past April. My future prospects include an MA in Communications in fall of 2017.
Currently, I am cowriter and producer on CKUT's The XX-Files, a weekly radio show based in Montreal, Quebec. At CKUT, I am required to write and produce original content for radio. This includes conducting live on-air shows and interviews as well as pre-producing content. I am also co-social media & community manager for our Facebook and Twitter pages, creating promotional material as well as maintaining content and comments.
I am a music editor at Quip Magazine. At Quip, I pitch, research and write stories, including album and concert reviews. I conduct interviews, and have covered several major North American music festivals. I take pride in my extensive music knowledge, my ability to play close attention to detail and the maintenance of my own creative voice.
In my spare time, I am a photographer, working with both analogue and digital mediums. My research methods and creative practice work in tandem, as I often shoot artists and shows while on assignment.
I was last employed with American Apparel as an Inventory Coordinator. As a coordinator and manager, I worked independently to maintain the store's inventory accuracy. I was also in charge of receiving shipment and processing online orders. I worked closely with Microsoft Excel, Retail Pro as well as RFID technology. I left my position at American Apparel in order to seek a career in a more creative field.
