Imagine having access to a creative writer with more than 30 years of experience envisioning, directing and delivering communications and marketing products. Starting with my love of writing I honed skills through those years in information dissemination and content development for all sorts of communication vehicles including the web and social media.
When I write my objective is to provide audiences with timely, accurate information to inform, advocate issues, promote policy or programmes, and/or to evoke action. My work has been read by the public and by specific audiences such as; youth, seniors, First Nations, women and people with disabilities. I’ve written for conferences and events, speeches for public officials, scripts for videos, articles for newsletters and detailed reports that analyse issues.
I’ve produced a host of communication and marketing products including posters, brochures, and promotional guides. There was even a stint as publisher, editor and contributor to a national quarterly magazine. Whether it is a presentation, a press release or some social media fodder I’d be hard pressed to think of a communication product I haven’t produced.
I embrace the use of evidence-based information in my writing and use information technology as a tool toward effective information dissemination. My success results from developing a complete understanding of the subject matter through exploration and study. That research leads to discovering a way to tell a story. Creative juices bring the narrative together and when you deliver it at the right time, to the right audience through the right method it can motivate, educate and empower people.
