Attributes that best describes:
I was responsible for the set-up of both laboratory and field experiments for University students, post-docs, and principal investigators. I monitored experiments, collected data, statistically analyzed data to evaluate the results, and produced internal reports and external peer-reviewed scientific publications with Molecular Research teams in University Laboratories in Brazil, Canada, and the United States of America. I prepared molecular reagents for DNA amplification and DNA staining reagents for flow cytometry. I routinely operated scientific instrumentation such as, flow cytometers, laminar flow hoods, microscopes, nanodrops, thermocyclers, titration equipment, and pH meters. I work well both independently and as part of a team.
In addition, I have many years of solid teaching experience within Canadian and American Universities, an English as a Second Language School in Brazil, and as an in-home Science and Mathematics tutor. I have the ability of prioritizing responsibilities, meeting deadlines effectively, and the confidence to guide individuals and large groups of people through demonstrations and learning exercises. I am able to explain topics easily to an audience and maintain their attention.
I have a calm, professional manner which supports my ability to work in stressful or high demand situations. I possess excellent oral and written communication skills, professional knowledge, and versatile laboratory experience.
I have a fondness for animation, especially stop-motion, and have a joyful sense of humour which supports my creativity.
