I am a Scientist with over 10 years of experience in the Academic and Biomedical Research sectors with a proven expertise in project management, advanced knowledge of research principles and concepts to develop study protocols, research policies and presentations that drive organizational decision. I proposed, designed and managed several epigenetic-related projects in the lab; collected, analyzed, summarized and presented research findings at the conferences. I reviewed scientific literature, wrote proposals and applied for grants. I am hands-on trained and proficient in a broad range of lab techniques.

During my graduate studies I developed proficiency in three different fields: chemistry, biochemistry and spectroscopy. I graduated with my PhD in chemistry in 2001, and for the past 14 years I was employed by the University Health Network, Toronto. During this period of time, I gained experience in: (i) applying innovative scientific approaches to provide novel molecular insights into drug target and target-ligand interactions; (ii) screening small molecules and assessing their “druggability” by biophysical and biochemical assays; (iii) using “chemical probes” to study function of target proteins by assessing their therapeutic potential in human diseases and conducted structure-function studies of proteins involved in cellular mechanisms that are disrupted in cancer. I worked collaboratively in multidisciplinary dynamic environment with other research groups in Canada and worldwide, and ensured that our results have been published in peer-reviewed journals. My strong ability to communicate allowed me to build effective relationships, contacts and leadership.

I trained to discover, innovate and develop/research. I am a “someone” who not only involved in a design, but also knows how to integrate all the pieces to make an overall system work.
