Attributes that best describes:
In previous years, I have volunteered and lead group of students in High school to plan events, fundraisers small, and big to fundraise for different causes both locally, and internationally. In 2011, I had the opportunity of obtaining a Co-Op Position at Touchstone Youth Centre which enabled me to participate in the Fire and Ice Fundraising Gala. The Fire and Ice Fundraiser event was a dinner-business networking event at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel which was priced at $100/ticket. My duties as a volunteer was to call possible donors, do research on possible in-kind donation possibilities. I was in charge of planning games, and helping with the set-up, take-down, and decoration of the event. I also took part in weekly meetings, writing minutes, and other administrative task.
In 2012, I was lucky enough to get another opportunity to volunteer again for this shelter, and participated as a Junior Event Coordinator, as well as a Silent Auction Leader, where I organized, all silent auction items, and took part in the set up, and take down of the silent auction tables as well as had a group of volunteers that I was in charge of for the night.
In the past couple of years I have volunteered for, events such as Dining in the Dark for DeafBlind Services Ontario, as well as coordinated cultural performances for the Vietnamese Student Association at the University of Waterloo for a province-wide cultural competition called “Ignite” this year, and brought back first place.
