Skills:
I have experience of working in a high quality lab as a Biophysicist. I certainly feel comfortable to work with chemicals and making solutions as well as doing research and manipulating data. I was also responsible for doing many analytical tests such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, Mass Spectroscopy (MS) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). I also used quantitative techniques such as Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) to find binding information between protein and anti-prion chemicals in order to do precise optical tweezers experiments. Working in a biological lab-specifically preparing hamster protein for the single molecule studies using optical tweezers (optical trap) -significantly helped me to become comfortable manipulating data. In addition, engineering optical tweezers data improved my analysis skills, critical thinking and self-confidently in using analysis software. I am now able to work easily with new analysis software such as IgorPro and PyMOL as well as many laboratory instruments such as PCR, HPLC, and some analytic skills such as ThT Assay. I also have experience of performing protein expression and purification.
