My educational background is B.Tech in Biotechnology and M.Phil in Neuroscience.
I have research experience of 3 years in different research institutes dedicated to neurosciences. I started my research career with Neuro-imaging and Neuro-spectroscopy Lab, National Brain Research Center, Gurgaon. Here, I was involved in a study to understand the biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders using state-of-art magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). This was done by estimating the levels of glutathione in the different brain regions.
I landed my second job at Molecular Genetics Lab, Department of Psychiatry, NIMHANS, Bangalore. Here, I was a part of multi-center project named as “Accelerator Program for Discovery in Brain Disorders using Stem cells” which is a collaborative pipeline that studies the clinically dense families with major neuropsychiatric illness. My major roles and responsibilities included, generation of non-adherent cell lines from peripheral blood mononuclear cells extracted from the patients of neuropsychiatric illness and family controls. I was conducting diagnostic tests and preparing reports for patients with Huntington’s and ataxia. Apart from molecular genetics work, I was also a part of in-silico omics data analysis team. I had utilized several platforms like, ConsensusdB, networkanalyst, Enrichr, DAVID, R package softwares, GSEA, for prioritization of candidates and molecular and functional pathway analysis from whole exome and proteomics data.
