Over the past five years I have acted on my passion of writing for Playboy. It was there that I realized the combination of my background in blogging, social media and general web nerdiness has led me straight to a career in freelancing. I think you’ll agree that I’d make an excellent addition to your team!
Whether it's overhauling the editorial calendar, collaborating with the copy editor, juggling freelance writers or ensuring my editorial team is working hard and happy, I am not shy to take the reins when a project needs better management. The skills I’ve developed throughout the years have helped me to properly supervise any size of project that comes my way, appreciate the significance of maintaining strong relationships with publicists & understand the importance of always being open to learn something new from my peers.
As the Editor for Playboy.com my duties mainly consisted of developing content for the site that was stimulating, topical & enriched with your daily dose of SEO keywords but it was last year I took over Playboy’s Gamer Next Door franchise I recognized my love for this kind of project management. That experience was a huge “aha” moment in my life. From remotely our on location event coverage at E3 and Blizzcon, writing game review and evergreen scripts for Pamela Horton’s Gamer Next Door videos to managing the Twitter and Facebook accounts for Playboy’s Gamer Next Door, I realized I was truly in love with this hands-on grind. I realize how much I enjoy the inner workings of networking with passionate members, writing editorial geared towards product reviews, learning the ins and outs of social media campaigns well and just as importantly, how much I enjoyed being a part of this community.
I’ve had the opportunity to learn hands on with multiple accounts. I have given reports and presentations to the editorial team on Gamer Next Door, covering topics ranging from how to properly grow the accounts, to what’s the best way to integrate the product into editorial. Coming from a creative background lends credibility to me in this field for sure. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not just all about the artistic aspects! Currently I’m writing SEO and copy for three start-up sites, freelancing for sites like Eater, Thrillist and xoJane and am loving every minute of it. Ok, so let’s get down to it. I have over five years of writing and editing (so I know the workings of the web), have no problems speaking in front of groups and am really great at social media... But what twentysomething can’t say that?
I look forward to hearing from you and learning how I can become an integral part of your team.
