Sumanth Kuduvalli is a wildlife photographer and cameraman. He took a liking to photography and filming as a 15-year-old, inspired by wildlife documentaries, and has stuck to it ever since. He graduated with a Diploma in photography and videography form CRAFT in Delhi.
He joined the Nikon technical office and held the position of a technical associate for two years, during which time he conducted both indoor and outdoor photography workshops. He has also assisted fellow filmmaker Amoghavarsha in the “River Terns of Badhra” documentary and also was part of the “Wonders of Monsoon” documentary team led by Sandesh Kadur.
Sumanth, after his stint with Nikon, was instrumental in founding a Bangalore based media production house IoraPro where he worked on making documentary films for CEPF (Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund) and ATREE (Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment) on the Western Ghats. He also worked as a photographer and cameraman for a WWF UK project on Rhino survey in Nepal and Natural History Cameraman for “The Return of Sangai”. His current project in 2018 is a documentary film on Amur Falcon and Nagaland as Director/Cameraman.
Being a wildlife enthusiast at heart, he has undertaken many pro bono activities for wildlife NGO’s and during his non-filming days, he takes part in surveys and awareness camps held by different wildlife-based organisations.
