Strong analytical skills
I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution (CADR) at Salisbury University. My course load focused heavily on mediation, conflict, and negotiation theory. Throughout my studies I participated in several high level research projects. I was a research fellow and graduate assistant at the Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution. Also, I am a certified mediator for the state of Maryland.
After completing my Master’s, I planned on attending a PhD program and becoming a professor. I was accepted to several top programs. However, I realized I was unwilling to dedicate more time to school. I began working in fine-dining restaurants in 2011 and since graduating I have continued the trade. Working seasonally in Ocean City, Maryland has allowed me to work in restaurants in Puerto Rico and Colorado during the winter months. Working in the service industry has strengthened my skills such as efficiency, discipline, promptness, and the ability to read people like a book. I am thankful for my experiences in the service industry because these skills are not typically taught in classrooms. Additionally, my experience in the service industry highlights my ability to sell a range of products to a diverse population.
