Dear Hiring Manager,

I am a soon to be recipient of my Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering degree seeking entry level employment following my graduation. Upon completing my undergraduate degree I intend to apply for my engineering in training (EIT) status, with the ultimate goal of achieving my Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation.

I stand out from the majority of my peer due to the well rounded nature of my skills. For my academic performance I have maintained an A level GPA in all four years of my undergraduate degree, achieving Dean’s List status for my studies. I was able to maintain this while working part-time as a cook in addition to keeping up with a variety co-curricular activities.

I have demonstrated my time management and preparedness skills through extensive experience in multi-project management. These skills have been further reinforced by my independent and group research studies through the NSERC undergraduate research grant. I have also developed my skills in leadership through my multiple student societal positions, included the vice president of the Engineering Student Society at Lakehead.

My primary values in my career are sustainability and technological stewardship, values which I admire in the direction which your company is taking. I am looking forward to speaking with you about possible future employment with your organization. I think you’ll find this is a mutually beneficial. Thank you for your time.

Looking forward to joining your team,

Sincerely,
Lauren Kennedy
