I am a Permanent Resident of Canada who has lived in Ottawa since 2016. I have recently completed the Paralegal Graduate Certificate program at Algonquin College in preparation for obtaining my Paralegal license with the Law Society of Ontario.

Before moving to Canada, I worked in a number of capacities which required the qualifications, skills and experience that you are looking for in the posted position. I am currently doing my placement at Sum Strategies Paralegal firm. I am assigned to develop standard operational procedure for creating, managing and closing client files, scan and file legal documents, prepare court documents, serve as office receptionist, do legal research to prepare for trials.

From 2014 to 2016, in my capacities as Administrative Assistant and Pay Clerk at Canadian High Commission, London, United Kingdom, I managed and operated the filing system, office supplies, office correspondences, event organization, travel arrangement and claims, payroll process, senior staff schedules, and other administrative assistance as requested.

From 2014 - 2018, I worked as a part-time legal/medical/general interpreter for Vietnamese immigrants and human trafficking victims in the United Kingdom, and currently continue to do so in Canada. In this capacity and as an immigrant, I understand the legal and social issues that many people from the immigrant community face, including the great need for low-cost and accessible legal services to resolve those issues, and how to work effectively to provide those services.

From 2003 - 2011, I worked as an HIV/AIDS Prevention Specialist at an HIV/AIDS community-based program supported by the U.S Centers for Disease Control. In this capacity, I developed the skills to promote and coordinate relevant services for HIV/AIDS patients which included but were not limited to legal and case management services.

From 2002 to 2003, in my capacity as office manager at US Center for Disease Control, US Embassy Hanoi, Vietnam, I was in charge of developing annual operational and budge plan, managing office operation including the function of office supplies, office equipment, filing system, office library, travels arrangement and event organization.

From 1998 to 2002, in my capacities as administrative assistance for a number of law firms and development projects in Hanoi, Vietnam, I developed my administrative assistance skill to deliver similar tasks as mentioned above.

In addition to Vietnamese and English, I also speak fluent Russian and I am working to progress in my French studies in the fastest possible time.

As you see in my attached resume, I have many years of experience in dynamic working environments which required comprehensive client-based approaches including client needs assessments and client- oriented communication skills. I also possess a professional skill set which allows me to work effectively as a team member of a legal team as well as independently, and I am able to handle multiple tasks and multiple deadlines with great attention to detail. The legal knowledge and skills I have gained through the Paralegal program that I am currently pursuing would also greatly contribute to the success of my performance if I have an opportunity to work at your office.
