Job Description
Our national IT consulting company, is seeking a
Project Manager to help our client with a large initiative
to replace 2 key legacy systems with new cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Developing a project charter and project management plan
* Establish the schedule and budget with clear milestones and project
deliverables
* Execute the project plan according to project management
methodologies, ensuring successful and coordinated completion of
project components
* Oversee and coordinate all project activities through the life
cycle of the application development using established implementation
methodologies (preferably agile/iterative/SCRUM).
* Managing the project schedule, financials, communication, risks,
etc.
* Ensure there are no schedule and cost variances for the project
* Directing the activities of internal and external resources for the
project
* External resources may include, but are not limited to, Security,
Privacy, Tech Services, Enterprise Architecture, etc.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all interactions with
leadership teams (e.g. steering committee, executives, etc.) and other
teams external to the project
* Serves in a leadership capacity throughout the project
* Participate in and drive scoping and business requirements
gathering sessions with client stakeholders
* Facilitates consensus with stakeholders as needed and ensures
readiness for project implementation
* Tracks project progress according to project plan and identified
metrics
* Prepare and conduct regular team meetings and status meetings
Requirements:
* 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager, managing medium to
large sized projects
* Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle models
* Extensive experience with both Agile and traditional project
management principles and practices, with the ability to blend them
together in the right proportions to fit a project and business
environment
* Proven track record of successfully implementing software projects
using Agile methodologies
* Experience with Scrum/Agile methodologies
* Experience with project financials and project business cases
* Demonstrated creative approach to problem solving and strong
troubleshooting skills
* Demonstrated ability to exercise flexibility and be responsive to
changing circumstances and demands
* Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff and
leadership
* Strong leadership and relationship management skills with a
collaborative spirit
* Proven ability to act as a decision maker with focus on the “big
picture”
* Understanding of design and development concepts and familiarity
with design patterns and the software development life-cycle
* PMP certification
* Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
* Experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Kanban boards, and
test management platform
* Knowledge of AWS is beneficial
