I am an experienced HR Consultant and specialize in supporting small businesses preparing to growth. I began my career at large organizations and parlayed my training and knowledge to tailor unique strategies to small businesses. I have a passion for building HR departments from the ground up with small businesses because they each require customized strategies for their workforce, to support their corporate culture, their industry, and their varying needs.

Having worked in HR in California for many years and California being such a highly regulated and litigious state, I have confidently supported HR in multiple states across the country.

The focus for each business is unique, whether it's compliance, employee engagement, company infrastructure; I see each of them as an opportunity to create an environment where people are passionate about their work, believe in the company, and feel connected to the people they work with. That is what excites me most about HR with small companies - creating an environment where people love what they do and helping them reach their individual potential.

I use a variety of methods to do that. I start by meeting with the senior leadership team, then the managers, and finally at least 2 employees in each department. I go in with my mind and ears open first, ready to listen. This gives me the opportunity to get the big picture of what it's really like working there - the benefits and areas where my work needs to begin. I consider the lifecycle of the product or service to ensure there aren't bottlenecks or unnecessary stumbling blocks creating inefficiencies or making work frustrating as well as the kind of training and support the team is currently getting. I use employee engagement surveys, company ice breakers, create quality performance management programs, and recognition programs as other tools in my tool box. I also create training and personally train managers to help them move the company forward in a growing organization.

Having spent the last 13 years in HR and built multiple company HR departments from the ground up now, I feel confident in supporting any area of HR you may need and would love the opportunity to help give you peace of mind when it comes to compliance, confidence when it comes to your strategy, and excitement when it comes to motivating your people.
